One Year after the Earthquake

2012/03/12

One year has passed since the Great East Japan Earthquake that occurred in the afternoon of March 11, 2011.

The earthquake, and the tsunami that immediately followed, claimed so many precious lives, and the subsequent accident at the nuclear power plant is still forcing many others to live in evacuation shelters.

On behalf of the Japan Automobile Importers Association (JAIA), I would like to offer my heartfelt condolences to the victims and express my sympathy for the affected people and their families, as well as for the people of Japan as a whole.

I would like to pay my sincere respect for the people of Japan making quick, but assured, steps toward recovery under the circumstances, which brought back the strength of the country to our mind again.

The association’s member companies as members of this society are also determined to continue taking various support activities for those affected, hoping to make some contribution to the reconstruction of the country.

I wish for the quickest recovery of Japan and those affected people picking up their life.
