【Registered vehicles】 
  The number of newly registered imported vehicles of foreign manufacturers during August 2003 was 14,796 unitsand decreased by 15.9% compared with the same month of last year (17,598units). The cumulative total sinceJanuary 2003 was 157,464 units and decreased by 7.4% compared with the same period of last year (169,973 units).
  The total number of newly registered imported vehicles during August, including vehicles produced in overseasby Japanese manufacturers, was 16,404 units and decreased by 13.3% compared with the same month of last year(18,918 units). The cumulative total since January 2003 was 176,695 units and decreased by 1.3% compared with thesame period of last year (178,983 units).
