Japan Automobile Importers Association (JAIA)
Japan Automobile Importers Association (JAIA: Chairman Roland Kruger) is pleased to announce the commencement of activities for imported motorcycles as of July 1, 2010, following a notice from the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, dated June 14, approving amendments to the Statute of the Association to start such activities.
Motorcycle importers planning to join initially are:
BMW Japan Corp.
Ducati Japan Ltd.
Harley-Davidson Japan K. K.
KTM Japan K. K.
Piaggio Group Japan Corp.
Mr. Christian Walters, President of Harley-Davidson Japan, will assume, as of the same date, a position as a director of the Association, representing motorcycles importers.
Going forward, a motorcycle committee, run by JAIA members, will be formed to work on details of activities, and a motorcycle office will be created internally to serve as a secretariat. JAIA will continue to encourage as many importers as possible to join and support member companies to achieve widespread use and better image of imported motorcycles.
